True Pedigree Supports Expansion of CBP Authentication Program to Additional U.S. Ports in Michigan

AUSTIN,Texas (June 8, 2026)—True Pedigree today announcedthe continued support and expansion of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection(CBP) and the Alliance of Gray Market and Counterfeit Abatement (AGMA) donationeffort to support CBP’s frontline detection of counterfeit products enteringthe United States. Following the recent agreement between CBP and AGMA toexpand the donation of the AGMA One Device to multiple ports of entry inMichigan, True Pedigree ensured expedient deployment of the devices andsubsequent training of the CBP Officers at each port.

This training and expansion builds on thesuccessful pilot deployment of the AGMA One Deviceplatform at John F. Kennedy International Airport in November 2025, as well astraining of CBP’s Electronics Center of Excellence and Expertise (CEE)personnel in March 2026. Through True Pedigree’s continued support andimprovement of the program, CBP is now utilizing One Device at 12 portsof entry in 8 states.

The AGMA One Device platform, donated toCBP through the agency’s DonationsAcceptance Program, consolidates brand authentication tools fromparticipating manufacturers into a single mobile device, providing assistanceto CBP Officers in determining the authenticity of suspect products enteringU.S. commerce.

True Pedigree provides the technologicalinfrastructure for the platform, including its GenuScan authenticationtechnology, which enables real-time product verification using manufacturerdata without altering packaging, labeling, or manufacturing processes.

The initiative demonstrates ongoingcollaboration among CBP, AGMA member companies, and technology providers toaddress the growing scale and sophistication of counterfeit trade. According to CBP, the agency seized nearly 79million counterfeit items in Fiscal Year 2025, with an estimated manufacturer’ssuggested retail price of more than $7.3 billion had the goods been genuine.

“This program demonstrates how collaborationbetween government and industry can enhance enforcement capabilities withoutincreasing operational complexity,” said Richard Nelson, co-founder and chiefstrategy officer at True Pedigree. “By supporting both training and practicalauthentication tools, this program helps CBP officers in their critical role ofidentifying dangerous counterfeit products imported into the United States, protectingconsumers and legitimate manufacturers.”

AGMA, founded in 2001, is a nonprofit coalitionof technology firms, distributors, and service providers dedicated to fightingcounterfeiting and unauthorized distribution.  Law firm Sideman & Bancroft LLP offeredlegal support for the AGMA One Device donation initiative.

Additional training and deployments are expectedas the program expands, in coordination with CBP, AGMA, and participatingrights holders.
